Testimonials

I loved it all- very inspiring! We are rebranding and redoing our website this year, and it is very daunting! This webinar helped ease my nerves a bit- thanks so much!

The presenter Cordelia Anderson was extremely well prepared. Clearly an expert with deep experience.  She is also an excellent presenter. Fantastic webinar. Thank you for hosting it.

The presenter was so knowledgeable and well-spoken.  The slides were meaningful.  While I work in a large institution that has a strong brand presence, I still left with several actionable takeaways.  Thank you.

– Participants in a webinar for Innovative, Part of Clarivate

Thank you for an excellent webinar. I know the attendees appreciated your experience and suggestions. We had some great questions at the end which I am sure everyone valued your responses.

– Melissa Lattanzi, Northeast Ohio Regional Library System

Thank you again for presenting at BiblioCommons! You packed so much into 20 minutes, and I know everyone really enjoyed and appreciated your session!

– Erica Reynolds, VP, Customer Success, BiblioCommons

There was a lot I liked about staff training day this past Friday, but hands down my favorite part was Cordelia Anderson, because she perfectly articulated something I have been trying to articulate for years. She took all the pieces that have been floating around in my head and put them together for me in a way that made perfect sense. I highly recommend that you check out her work.

– Karen Jensen, Fort Worth Public Library & School Library Journal

I am having much … success with your book, which I recommend to everyone who will listen!

– Melanie Medina, Marketing and Outreach Librarian, Ralph J. Bunche Library

Cordelia was very responsive and easy to work with. Working with her was a great opportunity to analyze the state of our current marketing and identify potential areas for improvement.

– Justin Stout, Head of Information Services, Neuse Regional Libraries

Cordelia’s step-by-step plan was organized in a way that was clear and helped us invite different staff to each topic meeting to bring a variety of perspectives to the communications plan. We had multiple levels of participation, including our Executive Director, Manager of Communications and Development, IT, HR, Graphic Design and Youth Services.

We developed and are still using templates for internal communications, branded based on department who is communicating. We have pre-emptively created some talking points and press releases for emergency communications. Follow the completion of our communications plan we developed a staff intranet … [including] a Communication portal for all staff communications and links to frequently needed sites. We are now working on team work sites for groups such as public services, each branch and department.

We [also] hired a full-time digital content coordinator position to help with eblasts, segmentation of email; social media planning and traffic as well as website oversight … [and] We significantly increased the email marketing budget in order to grow the list of subscribers.

– Frazier Walker, Communications and Development Manager, Cecil County Public Library

Cordelia proved adept at working across a multitude of library perspectives and cultures to build consensus. Cordelia created a safe and open environment that encouraged everyone to contribute to the strategic planning process. And Cordelia’s professionalism and positivity kept everyone energized throughout the strategic planning process.

– Rob Ross, Executive Director, NC LIVE

I was very fortunate to see a presentation by Cordelia at an online conference – it felt like she was speaking directly to me. She understood the exact struggles we were going through on our Marketing and Communications team and had practical experience with implementing effective solutions. We hired Cordelia and worked with her for 6+ months to audit our current marketing processes, then develop new internal systems and workflows. We involved our whole Leadership Team as well as staff from across all teams. Having a third party lead the process helped not only to receive buy-in on the suggestions, but to build a better understanding of everything we have going on as an organization and set realistic expectations.

Cordelia also identified gaps in our organizational structure and advised on the importance of having a Management role for the Marketing team. This advocacy led us to restructure by adding a Management position as well as a second Marketing Coordinator role to increase capacity of the team.

We are very thankful for all the support and advice we received from Cordelia!

– Melissa Foster, Manager, Marketing and Communications, Barrie Public Library

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for that absolutely wonderful crash course you just presented with us! The audience loved learning from you and I hope you saw the wonderful feedback you received and the gratitude coming in the chat. I know folks learned a lot and they will bring that learning back to their libraries with them, which is really exciting.

It’s always a pleasure to work with you and I hope that we can work together again in the future!

– Saadia Khalid, Curriculum Developer, Edmaker, Partner to Library Journal

I wanted to follow up with you and let you know that our Board found watching your video very worthwhile. We had a productive day talking about crisis communications and they walked away with the start of a Crisis Communications Plan, sample statements for different crisis situations and follow-up steps. Thank you!

– Lou Ann Stewart, Assistant Director, Planning & Communication, Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library

Cordelia Anderson’s strength is to take an organization’s goals and effectively develop strategies that extend the organization’s vision and objectives. Her process identifies impactful and realizable approaches to enable the brand to be activated and executed to build value and visibility. She works as an extension of the library, functioning as a collaborative partner to build on the current work already generated. She is a pleasure to work with, bringing an intelligence and depth of experience that is unmatched.

– Margaret Sullivan, Principal, Margaret Sullivan Studio

Cordelia provided the keynote at our annual library PR idea exchange for South Carolina public and academic librarians and was quite successful in captivating attendees! She spoke about how libraries can move from a promotion strategy to an engagement strategy and gave us all great ideas for taking our promotion to the next level. I even had a few library staff members ask me for her contact information days after the exchange.

– Dr. Curtis Rogers, Communications Director, SC State Library

Our library has really benefited from Cordelia’s knowledge and expertise in all things marketing! She has given us invaluable guidance in communications planning, design, branding, and community engagement – which we REALLY needed help with.

– Sharon Reichard, Director of Communications, UNCC J. Murrey Atkins Library

I think your message cannot be stressed enough and I know from the way folks were fiercely taking notes it can certainly be applied across all of our organizations. But I especially admire how you have created a thriving business out of sharing your experience and using it to fulfill a clear need in our field. I’m a fan of turning the table on the “it’s always been this way” and thinking outside the box!

– Taylor Abernethy Johnson, President-Elect of the Carolinas Chapter of the Special Libraries Association

I worked with Cordelia Anderson for four years as part of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s
Marketing and Communications Department. During that time, the Library became one of the top fifteen recognized brands in the area thanks, in large part, to Cordelia’s understanding of the Charlotte Mecklenburg community, and how to connect the community’s needs with the Library’s offerings (and vice versa). Her leadership and hard work helped the Library achieve goals by conducting needed research, developing attainable goals and evaluating strategies to ensure campaigns were moving in the right direction. She can take branding campaigns steps further with her keen understanding of the customer, and recognition of the importance of customer engagement and satisfaction.

– Katy Rust, Marketing Specialist, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library

Dynamic, creative and strategic, I endorse Cordelia as the preeminent marketing and communications professional in the library industry. I had the pleasure of working with Cordelia during my tenure with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library. Her leadership during the great recession was critical to the organization’s recovery as she positioned the Library as an essential service in the community, garnering tremendous grassroots support that manifested in restoration of the budget, staffing and hours of operation. Years later, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has reestablished itself as one of the premier urban libraries in the country. I have continued to monitor Cordelia’s career and contributions on the national landscape and I always look to her for counsel on strategic initiatives, particularly marketing and communications efforts. I wholeheartedly endorse Cordelia as an industry leader.

– Michael Lambert,  City Librarian, San Francisco Public Library

It was truly our pleasure to have you as our guest. You shared a wealth of knowledge that we very much need to assist us in building a strong foundation and grow as a team in promoting and elevating our library to the next level. Our group enjoyed our time with you and appreciated your taking the time away from your busy schedule to present the information to us … You provide positive energy and inspiration, and I hope that I will have another opportunity to work with you again in the future.

– Janice Hall, Central Piedmont Community College Library Services

Just wanted to let you know that your recent article made my weekly highlight reading list. I send out an internal e-newsletter to Branch Managers with inspiration from the library field, and found your quote to be uplifting.

Thank you for working towards creating a shared vision of libraries providing essential support to communities!

– Cindy Hohl, Director of Branch Operations at Kansas City Public Library

I’m working on the new round of Library Journal‘s Successful Library Marketing course, and you were at the top of our list to present a session. We loved your presentation in our previous run of the course, and the audience agreed that your presentation was a favorite. We would be delighted to have you join us again!

– Saadia Khalid, Curriculum developer for Edmaker.co, Partner to Library Journal

Thanks so much for speaking for us today! You have such an engaging presence while you are presenting. You presentation was full of great content and insightful tips that our participants will be able to easily apply to their work. I appreciate all your hard work and useful knowledge, it clearly showed today.

Brittany Rand, Online Learning Coordinator for Edmaker.co, Partner to Library Journal

I love the concept of being ‘essential,’ not just ‘important.’ It also completes the circle a lot of library professionals have trouble with, in that they see the numbers going down, but they don’t have the data, or strategies, to change the trajectory.

This will be very helpful to share with other libraries. You continue to be the trailblazer, and for that, we are so appreciative.

– Sandra Swanson, President of OrangeBoy, Inc.

Great endorsement of your strategy — and the library. You make it look easy, but we know otherwise.

– Clark Swanson, Chairman & Founder of OrangeBoy, Inc.

I’d like to call you attention to a Linkedin article that I recently read by your colleague, Cordelia Anderson, PR and Marketing Executive at Charlotte Mecklenburg Library – it’s attached. I know you will enjoy her insight.

– Colleen Bragiel, Senior Project Manager for Urban Libraries Council

Cordelia brought tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism to Charlotte Prep. Her forward-thinking mindset transformed our marketing strategy.

– Kelly Crum, Communications Manager, Charlotte Preparatory School
