Jennifer lives in northern Vermont and has over nine years of library experience in the Green Mountain State. After graduating from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, in 2013, she searched for just the right role before beginning as a library aide in a rural elementary school. During this time, she won and implemented a grant worth $25,000 from the Children’s Literacy Foundation providing programming and books to the school’s students.
After this, Jennifer spent six years in state government at the Vermont Department of Libraries, where she helped deliver the state’s youth services programs to libraries among many other special projects including managing the department’s newsletter and social media.
By working on these two things in particular, Jennifer developed an interest in library marketing and communications. She completed a Digital Marketing Fundamentals Professional Certificate through the University of Vermont in 2018, and attended the Library Marketing & Communications Conference in 2019. Now, Jennifer is gaining on-the-ground experience as Assistant Librarian at a local public library, and hopes to work in library programming, marketing, and communications for a public library system one day.
