About the Tampa Bay Library Consortium
The Tampa Bay Library Consortium, Inc. (TBLC) is a nonprofit multitype library cooperative that has empowered over 120 member libraries across 19 central Florida counties since 1979. Serving more than 6.3 million Floridians — over a third of the state’s population — TBLC’s membership spans public, academic, school, and specialized libraries, including state colleges, university systems, private academic institutions, public school systems, and public libraries. Headquartered in Tampa with a staff of five, the consortium is guided by a 13-member Board of Directors elected from member libraries. Our mission is to build a community of libraries and library staff committed to collaboration and continuously improving services that better Floridians’ lives. TBLC supports this community by providing essential services, connecting staff through active engagement, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.
